How can reading fiction be turned from escapism into personal growth?

I don't know how I can put this.
You know if that how you want it then read the boom with the intention to learn something. Use your markers, sticky notes , write notes. You know in literature how you would read Romeo and juliet and analyze it …the characters the development. That's how you do it.
Not all booktok…just majority.
Just use it on the right fiction. Booktok fiction is kind of mmh 🤔 not meant for that. For you will be quite perplexed at the utter personal ‘growth’ you will find there.
